In 2009, Feld launched The Feld Group Institute, a leadership development firm that focuses on collaboration among IT leaders. The goal of the institute is to extract the knowledge of many IT leaders and share it, so that future generations of business and IT leadership can build upon it.

The Feld Group Institute’s leader-to-leader forums will be both physical and electronic leadership development programs, briefings, coaching, articles and blogs, contributed by Charlie Feld and other CIOs and CTOs.

The institute’s model was first introduced at these extremely healthy enterprises that chose to develop their IT leadership teams in order to stay at the top of their respective industries:

  • FedEx
  • Southwest Airlines
  • Bank of Montreal

The foundation of the knowledge base and training framework has been captured in Feld’s new book called Blind Spot: A Leaders Guide to IT-Enabled Business Transformation.
